It has been such a long time!
We have got to be better about updating this thing! Not much has been happening at the Carbonero house. This summer was wonderful and relaxing for both of us. We got some much needed time together after a rough year last year. Nic left his job at Marcus High School and got hired at Faith Christian in Grapevine. It has been such a magnificent change and it is such a blessing to see your significant other happy with what they are doing. The atmosphere and the people at this school is amazing and so supportive and that is exactly what he needs.
I started my 4th year of teaching at Haltom this year and it's the year where it is truly ours. The freshman when we started are now seniors and it is incredible to see the amount of change that can happen in three years. I love where I work and I LOVE the kids I work with. It has been a blessing to teach here and it is going to take A LOT for me to want to leave. I may stay here forever!
We have currently planned a trip for December to New York City. We are such fine arts nerds and LOVE this city that we are so excited to go back! Nic and I met doing a show called The Long March and after we performed it in Ireland we brought it back to the states and performed it a year later in Greenwich Village in New York City. It is such a special place for us and we are so ready to go back there. I think if we could live anywhere else it would be New York City. We have never been there around the holidays so this will be such a wondeful experience with the lights and the Christmas trees and ice skating and maybe SNOW!! Bring it!
That is pretty much all that is going on in our lives. One thing we have started to have more conversations about is starting a family together. We are both not quite ready, but we are getting closer with every day that passes. Nic will be 32 in December and I just turned 26 so I know it's around the corner for us. It is a fun topic to talk about and to try and plan for, but that may occur in the near future for us! Super pumped.
